19The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens. 20By His knowledge the deeps were broken up and the skies drip with dew.
We usually don’t think of wisdom when contemplating creation. But with increasing scientific discoveries, we are seeing more and more the truth of what Scripture simply states: creation gives evidence of complex and intelligent design. Of course, secular cosmologists become quite annoyed with such assertions and offer their wild alternative explanations. If one thinks that belief in the existence of a creator God is ludicrous, then one must come up with some other explanation for the appearance of intelligent design that is not ludicrous. Unfortunately for them, all their attempts lack plausibility, relying on conjecture, unprovable theory, and intellectual bullyism—in short, ludicrous.
We can only stand amazed when we consider the intricacy of even the smallest of living things, like a living cell with its DNA and RNA structures. Its ability to divide and differentiate into different body parts is beyond current scientific comprehension. Our best minds can only describe what happens, not explain why or how. Where does all the information contained therein come from if not from the wisdom of God?
Ponder the complexity of interstellar space and the gravitational pull that orders the galaxies and orbits of moons around planets, planets around suns/stars, stars around galaxies, etc. Astronomers spend their lives working with highly precise and complex lens systems (called telescopes), radio-wave gathering mechanisms, and a great amount of mathematics to study the celestial skies. They calculate the trajectory of comets and meteorites, both orbital and interstellar—and that takes mathematical genius, using intricate concepts and advanced computer systems made by intelligent people.
Yet, no one has been smart enough to figure out the mathematical equations that caused creation to come into existence. Even if one could do that, equations written on paper won’t create anything—an animating force must be in place, with a quantumly higher level of “smarts.” The best we can do, as human beings, is describe what we see. The Lord created it all. Not only did He use wisdom when He created, but He infused creation with wisdom. That is why we humans have the ability to study what He made and understand what we see at increasingly granular levels. All wisdom, understanding, and knowledge that we have comes from Him.
Lord, I praise You for building the universe and all that is in it by wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, and for giving us the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge to enjoy it all.
