Love Every Minute

by | Faith and the Five Senses

Every minute we’re called to love.
Many hours we’re called to serve.
Some days we’re called to lead.

                  But we only truly lead
during the days that we’ve been serving
                   And we only truly serve
during the hours that we’ve been loving

–Adapted from conversations with Dr. Reg Grant, Dallas Theological Seminary

With each passing decade of motherhood, we gradually exchange perishable beauty for the imperishable kind. It starts when we are young, our bellies expanding to grow and nourish children. Stretch marks and loose skin arrive, perhaps to stay, sometimes accompanied by...

Pure Praise – Psalm 150

1Praise the Lord … 6Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. This psalm concludes the inspired biblical collection of one hundred and fifty psalms (also called poems, songs, or chapters). The six verses of Psalm 150 are saturated with thirteen...

Priesthood for “Average” Believers

If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, then you are a believer-priest. That’s amazing! What?? Let me explain. In the New Testament (NT), there is no special clergy class that is holier than the rest of us, a cut above the rank and...

Superlative Praise – Psalm 149

1Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the godly ones. Superlative praise, extolling God ‘to the max,’ is the theme of this psalm. There is nothing meager about this kind of praise. It is the antidote to an old and tired...
