But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him. (Lamentations 3:21–24)
Fiscal cliff, horrendous federal debt, obscene deficit, moral decay, stagnate economy–all disappointing news for our day. Jeremiah, the prophet, had much more to lament about–read his short book it can be quite depressing with the “large government” takeover by a foreign entity, loss of property and enslavement!
Except — for right in the middle of his book called “Lamentations” he writes one of the most hopeful passages in all the Bible. God never quits, despite the political fiasco of our (US) country. His love never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. His character is fresh every day and his faithfulness is unceasing. With Him in our lives, we can live successfully and victoriously in any condition or climate. Now, that is hope worth living for!

Thanks for the encouragement, Chuck.
In the midst of shifting sands of political posturing, it is so great to have my portion in Him.. This gives me hope!
Chuck, So glad I’m getting the e-med weekly again. For some reason I haven’t received it in so many months. Maybe somehow my email got deleted.
Thank you
Gold bless you, Erlene
No, you weren’t dropped. You apparently didn’t switch over the daily meditations that I was publishing instead of these “weekly” ones, which I have now started up again.
Blessings, Chuck
