To[i] worship God, we need to know Him. Jesus said that knowing God is what eternal life is all about (John 17:3). The Apostle Paul’s highest goal was to know Him (Phil 3:10). Our worship grows deeper as we increase in our knowledge of God and who He is.
Our Lord often reveals Himself in epithets,[ii] which are like little packages containing profound truths which tell us what He is like. Take a minute to ponder the many facets of our Lord revealed through these epithets in the book of Psalms—and let your spirit rise up in worship and praise.
