The apostle Paul’s highest goal was to know Him—that was the focus that framed everything else in his life:

I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord … that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death… (Phil. 3:8, 10)

Our worship grows deeper proportionally with the increase in our knowing God and who He is. Our Lord reveals Himself in every book of the Scriptures—the Word of God drips with pictures and descriptions of Him. Epithets are a common way of telling us what He is like, describing Him in a short phrase or with words used as a name for Him. They contain profound truths in small packages.

Consider and ponder the many facets of our Lord found in the book Psalms—and let your spirit rise up in worship and praise.
